The temperature has dropped, the leaves are starting to fall and the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin is taking over the candle aisle in the supermarkets. This is the best time of year and I cannot wait to get stuck in! I have seen many people on blogs show everyone their favourites of the month or things they have been loving recently and this is my take on it. I love reading them so I thought I would give it a go and share my love of Autumn.
Autumn has always been my favourite time of year and I think it is my love for being cosy. This has only been amplified when I moved out from my parents house and into my own little flat. My collection of blankets doubled, my candle love turned into and addition and fairy lights cover my walls! If you read that last line and think an addition to candles.. really.. its true. I am banned from a Yankee Candle store, but that is as story for another time! They are constantly lit whenever I am home and normally have a cinnamon hint to them! However, my biggest love is when I come home, the warmth of the heating hits me and the look of my cosy living room honestly fills me with joy after a long day at work. I can come home, get under my blankets with a large plate of carbs and relax either watching a film or bake of reruns! Currently, while I am writing this my film of choice is the Black up plan.
Talking of Bake off… as soon as I see that tent on TV I know its the start of autumn and I get all excited! It also reminds me that I need to start preparing as I always like to give some baked good around the Christmas period. I just think it is a nice thing to give as a gift as its so personal and its so fun to bake. Also, it makes the house smell amazing ( as long as you don’t burn them). This is also a warning, once I get some bakes that are photogenic, I think I might do post on it as it is such a big passion of mine! There is so many different combinations and ticks to it and as I said before it makes your house smell amazing!
Another thing I love during Autumn is photography! With the changing colours of the trees and the many different shades within the sky, I love taking photos at this time. I live in a small town by the river and going for walks, wrapped up in 20 layer, with my camera is one of my fave things to do! on my own with my thoughts or with a light mumble through with friends ans family. Once I have got my life together a little bit more I would like to get a little puppy to come with me and most likely become the main focus of my photos, but until that happens, landscapes will have to do! I do love it, but just like baking, I cannot say I am any good haha.
All I can really say now, after rambling on for some time now, that I have a good feeling about the next few months and I cannot wait to get stuck in and enjoy all the little things. I wanna go for hot chocolates, long walks, ice skating, Christmas shopping and bake a ton of preparation ‘gifts’ that will help to add to my winter layer to keep me warm haha.
Lets enjoy all the small things and make the last of the year count!
